Okay, I've had enough ...

Time to start it up again!

Early this year, I followed my own advice and did a "self assessment." This laborious process consists of asking myself a bunch of questions, the most important of which is ...

"In what mood am I spending my day?"

I looked at what I as writing, how I was communicating and what I was telling others to do ...
Not that I expect anyone to listen, of course.

Whatever. (By the way, don't you hate when someone says that to you?)

ANYWAY ... I spent a few days asking myself that question, looking at what I was projecting and writing, and came to a singular conclusion:

I was ANGRY!

Now, I know that I wasn't projecting that all of the time and to everyone, but that anger was the filter I'd started looking through, and humor had begun to slowly creep away. I was starting to take myself too seriously, to imagine that I was more than a "little cog."
I realized that there was little more I could do or say that was worth my being angry.

So, it was time to step back for a look at my life, and to concentrate on new and long desired goals for a few months. And great gains were made, new doors opened.

But ... With the primaries over, and the silly season upon us, it's time to pick up the lantern again, and see who I can shine the light on.

Jeeze, it's hard to start doing this again ...
Naaaaaaaahhhh, not really ... They give me soooo much to work with!

Career twerp and well known "Jerk o' the World" U.S. Rep. (D-Hades) Pete Stark has made a life's work out of saying and doing things that would have caused a mere mortal to lose, by dint of fist, most if not all of their teeth. He's sooooooo obviously the fella for whom the line "Some guys just never learn ..." was coined.

But, who needs more of a screed from me when Pete can explain it so well by just being his own scabrous self, eh?



At least we know what to point to when trying to explain the fruits of "Voter Apathy," eh?

Gee, what a great Prez ... Isn't it great to have someone in charge to tell us how things could be so much worse? It almost eclipses the moment at the G-20 when he told the World that America can no longer be expected to lead the World out of Crisis ... But wait, aren't we supposed to "Never let a good Crisis go to waste"?

And now for our own "Big Stinker" ...

For sheer gall, Central Valley residents can always point to Gov. Arnold Scharzenheimer. After treating us to a cacophonic symphoney of self-back-patting for the past year as he "lead the fight" (sic) to get us more water while constantly declaiming how he couldn't get us more water, Ahnold told us this week how the "Water Bond" must wait until 2012. Supposedly, by waiting until 2012, the "Legislative Leaders" (sic) will magically come up with a new revenue source to replace the loss of tax revenues that were formerly generated by such ruinous pursuits as farming, ranching & logging. 
Add, or more pointedly subtract the loss of revenue to San Benito & Fresno Counties by continually restricting Public Land Access for recreation & tourism, and Gov. Ahnold is looking more & more like Prez Obama in whiteface.

However, I do have to give Ahnold kudos for holding a great "Town Hall" meeting in Fresno yesterday.
Of course, I didn't attend, having not been INVITED. Still, I don't feel any more slighted than most Fresnans, since they weren't invited either. In fact, only (some of) the Press and a few carefully chosen "Community Leaders" were given the signal privilege of being "chosen" to attend. Not that they were "allowed" to ask any questions.
No, there were no "impromptu" or "off the cuff" questions at this "Town Hall" meeting. No embarrassing demands for answers or solutions, no troubling questions of why the Governor hasn't done his job, or why he is attempting to go back on his word on the "Water Bond."

No, there we NO pesky calls for inconvenient & truthful answers. The fact is, an exhaustive FIFTEEN questions were asked of our harried and overburdened Governor. Add to this a wonderfully self congratulatory statement about how he's spent so much time "advocating" for the Central Valley, and how he'll still "fight" for the Water Bond after he's left office, and it was clearly a "Peachy!" Town Hall.

However, I really can't tell you too much about this fine, historic "Town Hall" ... Since it won't be aired until July 17th, if I remember correctly. I wonder if there'll be any movement on the historically (and traditionally) late budget by then.

Yeah ... Sure ... As if!

In the last week, or ... "Why is my head swimming?"

Y'know, sometimes you have a week that just astounds you to look back upon.
Last week was just one such week for me.

Forget the overstuffed days. Disregard the business fun. Accept the lost days due to a virus. Put aside the personal details. Overlook the obvious "blogger overload."

Here's the facts, from my perspective and in simple terms:

The week began with attempting to take the true measure of Scott Brown's Massachusetts Senate win.
Will Obama and Co. get any sort of clue? Willl Brown be "different?" Will The People see any "change?"
The Verdict? A big "We'll see."

On Monday, Valley leaders, citizens and four Republican Congressmen gathered in the Fresno City Council chamber to hold a public hearing on the ongoing Water Crisis. Here's a statement from Rep. Tom Mc Clintock, given on the House floor, following the hearing. The voices were loud, the message strong, but one message was clear; A "sea change" must take place in Washington.
The Interior Secretary has made clear that no real help will be forthcoming from the Obama Administration.

In fact, the Interior Department is determined to thwart ongoing scientific efforts that do not support the destruction of Valley Agriculture. The most notable recent example of this ongoing bureaucratic stance is seen in the DOI refusal to allow the experimental "Two Gates" project to go forward. It's clear that they fear that a solution will actually be found, and that the ongoing "excuse" of the Delta smelt will be lost!

Tuesday saw a small milestone, with past Fresno mayor and current candidate for Congress Jim Patterson speaking in the shadow of Friant Dam.

Citing the dishonest & hypocritical actions of "Environmentalists"in continuing to seek additional diversions of water that were allocated by agreement to the Ag industry and municipalities of the Valley, and the Department of the Interior and its continued actions against Central Valley economic interests and refusal to propose any actual solution to the Water Crisis, Mr. Patterson made his first definitive campaign pledge.


In simple, strong words, Mayor Patterson stated that his first action as Representative of the 19th District of California would be to introduce legislation for the immediate repeal/reform of the San Joaquin River Settlement. In addition, he signaled his steadfast support for the development of additional water storage, Delta community water treatment and conservation solutions.
Reform of the Endangered Species Act was also a key point within his statement.



He received endorsements from Piedad Ayala & Families Protecting the Valley, Dennis Prosperi, Robert Smittcamp, Kole Upton & many other Valley Farmers and Ag leaders.

Andy Vidak, candidate for the 20th Congressional Districtand several other candidates for Congress were in attendance, and voiced strong support for Mr. Patterson's efforts in insuring secure & steady water supply for the Valley, and all Californians.

According to the Fresno Bee, the Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar also announced on Tuesday that between 350,000 and 400,000 acre-feet of additional water will be delivered. He said the water would come on top of the standard water allocation scheduled for February.

"The steps we are taking will help provide water users and growers critical assurances for the year ahead," Salazar said in a prepared statement.

Unfortunately,  he was lying.

From the Fresno Bee article; "San Joaquin Valley farmers, while conceding the Interior Department's announcement offered a sliver of help, largely denounced it as more spin than substance. The farmers said the water described by the Interior Department will not increase irrigation supplies, as farmers already have purchased most of it.
"I would like to give the secretary the benefit of the doubt, that maybe he was confused," said Tom Birmingham, general manager of the giant Westlands Water District. "Otherwise, this looks like an intentional effort to mislead the public."
In part, the Interior Department simply moved up on the calendar a water scheduling announcement usually made later in the year. Much of the water touted by Salazar already has been bought by farmers and is being stored in the San Luis Reservoir.
Once again, the spin lacked any substance.

Wednesday was fairly quiet, which was okay, because Thursdays "State of the Union" address made up for it, in spades. ("Oh, my goodness! Did he call the president a shovel???")

I confess, I didn't sit down to watch "the Savior" in His "godlike" splendor go out of His way to "diss" the Supreme court while they were seated politely at His feet, nor was I watching as He gave a "shout out" praising His wife. Unfortunately, I had something more important to do with my evening. But, I guess that's what His point really was.
What I was able to gather was that He was terribly disappointed in how so many Americans, myself incidentally included, didn't want to just turn our lives over to Him and His to control. I heard how it was actually the fault of G. Bush that He "inherited" such a messed up Nation. I heard how this "smartest President ever" had no intention of taking any responsibility for anything, much less even His own votes in the Senate.

"Again we are tested, again we must answer history's call ...' was His first "rallying cry." But His answer has been to defer any responsibility for the "mess" the Nation faces.

I'll write more later on this speech, since I've not yet had time to digest it, other than to gather how disappointed He is with dissenters. Funny, when He wasn't "Community Organizer-in-Chief" he praised dissenters.

Friday saw Chris Matthews again proving that it's okay to be racist, if you're an Obama supporter;



Personally, I can't help but observe that the only people who get "a pass" when they make a statement like that are Liberal hacks like Matthews and Sen. Harry "light skinned, articulate" Reed.

And then there's Speaker of the Hose, Nancy "Pee." With the revelation that her liquor bill tops $1,000 a week, I'd had enough for that week.
But then I heard that the "paltry" $1,000 a week bill was just for alcoholic beverages on her plane,
well, all I could do was shake my head.

That is, shake my head, and pledge within my heart to defeat these wastrels.

Not "What?" ... "Why?"

This last Saturday, the Visalia Times-Delta published it's own "stab" at answering the persistent and puzzling question of "What IS the Tea Party?" They were very lucky. They asked Tulare County Tea Party Coordinator Deanne Martin-Soares to answer their questions.
Deanne answered them in a serious, plain and thorough fashion.
Yet they still came across as rather puzzled or, more fairly put, completely baffled.

It's clear that there's a deep puzzlement, a deep "disconnect" in the understanding of The People by the "elite" ruling class, and their associates, the "Mainstream" Press. Yes, I state that partly in sarcasm and ridicule, but also in the very personal understanding that those words so often describe what "they" feel and believe about themselves. However, the Press don't realize that, rather than asking "What?" they should be asking "Why?"

The "Why?" behind the "Why?" surfaces in the fact that the current grassroots political tsunami after the election was a surprise to Obama supporters in the electorate, was of little surprise to the unwashed Independents such as myself, and most of all, deeply dismaying to those of us who understand the political uses of psychology.
The use of "memes" such as "Hope" and "Change" were, to me, enormous red flags about Obama.
I am suspicious of many things in this life, but nothing makes me more suspicious than a Politician who goes around spouting amorphous "keywords," words that have a different, gut level meaning to each and every person. And the Users who used the memes were more than happy to let everyone who would buy their bull ascribe their own, oh-so personal meaning to those declarations.
Was this use of the psychology of subterfuge an open and undeniable fact? Oh yes. We have admissions, not of a conspiracy, but of open manipulation in plain sight. Comments such as "never waste a good crisis" and the clueless attitude of the President as to "what went wrong, " as illustrated in the following clip from Glenn Beck:



The saddest fact of the "ruling class" is that they have little or no understanding of the abject absurdity of their continual assertions of superiority. They show open contempt for the electorate that elected them, and prove themselves totally oblivious to any exhortations upon them by that electorate to act in a a sensible and sane manner. They act in a puzzling and irresponsible fashion, continually making commitments in the name of the People which show no benefit to the People. Why? Because it benefits THEM, personally.
Here in California, we have an out in the open object lesson of what happens when a "ruling elite" are allowed to "take over." Even when they run on a platform of "Responsibility," as Gov. Ahnold did, it turns out that what they desire most is the adulation and admiration of individuals who're just as vain, callous and irresponsible as they prove themselves to be.

So, just one short week ago, the People of Massachusetts sent a message to Washington, a message that should have woken them like a bucket of ice water. Clearly, some Politicians were jarred awake. The loss of the Kennedy "hereditary" seat in the Senate was a clear message.
The "politics of privilege" are in open peril, if not already dead.
Hail Teddy, Long Live the "Man who would have been King!"

We now see the "Why?" that the "ruling elite" need to see, understand and FEAR. "They," the Elite, the "Mainstream" Press, the Progressives and Users, have been unmasked in their irresponsibility and greed. Their plan to bankrupt first California, and then the Nation, has been made apparent to all who will see.

The open admissions by California's Senior Senator, Dianne Feinstein that she chose to ignore the People's email, phone calls, petitions and letters on more than one vote make clear the obvious message; She votes not in our interests, but in her perceived self interest. The same is made apparent by Rep. Radanovich's admission of voting first against, then for the original TARP bill.

The rise of the Tea Party scares the hell out of the politicians!  It is proof simple that a rising segment of the population not only sees their lies, malfeasance and self service, we aren't going to buy the cries of "Wait 'til they see what's in it for them!" anymore. Their falsity has become openly apparent, as has the fact that they serve only their own interests.


 "Is He live, or just Memorex?"

"Why?" Because it's become apparent that what's in it for us is nothing less than the tightening grip of yet another regime of elitist, Progressive idealists. It's easily and readily apparent that the President and His cronies are just the latest in a never-ending parade of Ruinists, bent on the creation of a personal Utopia for themselves and their "equals" at any cost, and ready to crush the necks of all who oppose them.

So, "What is the Tea Party?" It is a group of Individuals, brought together by the realization that if we all stand alone, we will all fall together!
I can guarantee you that, when they first saw me, with my long hair & beard, many of the more personally conservative of my fellow Tea Party members were unsure of this loud mouthed blogger.
I know for certain that I've annoyed many of them. But, one thing that is never in question among those who stand with the Tea Party is that I will defend their personal freedoms and liberties with the same fervor that was shown by our Founding Fathers.

"Why?" Because I know, by the record of History, that if I chose not to do so, the politics of an even older philosophy than is taught in our Constitution will return. We will bow before "our betters," kiss the rings of the Kings, and live in a world where we pay for the dictates of others, without any choice of our own.

I stand with the Tea Party, and it's members will stand with me. How do I know? Because they have.

The Daily Bug: Conservative Values; 2 out of 3 is a message ... Al Gore denies "profiting from Global Warming" ... Gibbs: "Afghanistan decision weeks away" ... and oh, so much more!

So, are you as ready as I am for the veritable "landslide" of trite, foolish denials of any "message" being given in the stunning upset victories by Conservative Republicans in N.J & Virginia? I'm sure that there will be plenty forthcoming.
Meanwhile, from Drudgereport.com; REPUBLICAN TAKES VA BY 18% ... and ... REPUBLICAN TAKES NJ BY 5% ... The only "disappointment' of the night is that the incredible "Dark Horse" Conservative Doug Hoffman was defeated by the vastly better financed Democrat Owen ( by a whopping 3 points! ), after the "Republican" shill whose name even I can't pronounce and who'll now be promptly forgotten even by Wikipedia, endorsed THE DEMOCRAT ... One thing that no one will forget; Newt Gingrich's inexplicable choice of endorsing the shill. Our take? "Mental-pause."

In another stunning upset, Al Gore again denied "profiting from Global Warming." "If I didn't invest," said the Ex-VP turned shameless bogus climate science shill, "they'd call me a hypocrite."
Uhhhhh ... Al?
Guess what ... Your investment record is the least of the reasons we call you a "hypocrite."

In White House news: Gibbs: Afghanistan Decision Still "Weeks" Away
(Video link from C-Span 3 ... Wait a minute, there are 3 of those boring, snore fest channels ... and WE'RE paying for them?)

"It was weeks yesterday and it's weeks today," White House Press Secretary Robert "Uhhhh ... What?" Gibbs told the Press today, repeatedly stonewalling about any possible rational or logical reason for the ever extending delay of an Afghanistan troop reinforcement decision.
Our sources in the White House kitchen ( you don't really want to know ... ) indicated that the main holdup was that the President was apparently unsure what color the drapes in the Obama Memorial Afghanistan Momentous Decision Announcement (OMAMDA) Center ( soon to be built on the graves of "brave American soldiers" ) should be.

Meanwhile, the White House chef revealed that the Presidents favorite vegetable is "broccoli!" This apparently signals a sharp departure from the Bush "Regime," where the favorite vegetable was said to be "Colin."

For those who still respect the Constitution ....

While listening to Glenn Beck today, I heard about this strikingly ethical organization that puts their oath where their mouth is ...
In their own words;
"Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of currently serving military, reserves, National Guard, veterans, Peace Officers, and Fire Fighters who will fulfill the Oath we swore, with the support of like minded citizens who take an Oath to stand with us, to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so help us God. Our Oath is to the Constitution:
Our motto is "Not on our watch!"

There is a great deal of fear among the Conservatives of our Nation, having seen the "whatever it takes!" mentality and blatant use of Progressive & radical Socialist tactics such as were described by Saul Alinsky in "Rules for Radicals",  that the present Administration will find excuse to declare martial law and circumvent the Constitution in it's present push to overwhelm, "re-form & remake" America. The stated purpose of Oathkeepers is dedicated to thwarting any attempt to circumvent our Constitution by such illegal and intentionally precipitated means.

While we're truly skeptical of "conspiracy theories" here at the NObama County Register, we have our eyes wide open. We've seen moves that are straight out of Alinsky, are constantly bombarded with overreaching attempts to usurp Constitutionally delegated powers & destroy the Middle Class, and are lectured as to how we must "get out of the way" so the President can create his Utopia of "fairness & economic redistribution."

Friends, it's weird and getting steadily weirder. It's time for every single individual Citizen to stand and say their peace. Here's mine:

"I support and will defend with my life, my blood and my treasure, the Constitution of the United States of America.
I will fight, with words and deeds, any and all who would deprive Americans of our Constitutionally defined Rights, Rights which have been conferred upon us by God.
I will raise my voice, and encourage others to do the same, in defense of our Constitution.
I will fight those who would require, for their own selfish purposes, the abridgment of any American Citizen's Constitutionally guaranteed Rights."

I'm sick and tired of being urged to give up my Rights, especially for some illusion of security such as "Universal Health Care." Government Health Care Insurance is not "single payer." It will be paid for by everyone, and subject all to an unequal level of deprivation. It will, despite all protestations to the contrary, require rationing and imposition of artificial controls upon the market. and Politicians will build in exceptions that will make some unequal by dint of age, sex, color or philosophy.

So, despite my strong urge to disbelieve, I see the evidence of the Obama Administration's willingness to actually do anything that will gain themselves more and more power. If they will deny us water, they will deny you water. If they demonize Fox News, they will not hesitate to demonize or deny the Rights of you or I.

Do you remember the last President to openly demonize "the Press?" Does the phrase "Nattering Nabobs of Negativism!" mean anything to you?
Richard Nixon and Spiro Agnew committed these acts and said that phrase. It begs the question: Why demonize when you can simply ignore? Is what Fox is reporting the Truth, or too close to the Truth?

And, in the light of the past, what is the Obama Administration in need of hiding? They openly lie, so what more could they possibly be trying to pull on us?

The only thing I'm absolutely sure of is that I don't have proof of anything positive where Mr. Obama is concerned, and plenty of proof of negatives. I don't trust him, his Czars, or his associates.

I'm not yet sure whether I will join the Oathkeepers, but I applaud their determination and guts. And we here at the NObama County Register support their Right to defend themselves and all Americans, from those who would usurp the Constitution.

Where next for "Adventure?" - Let's finish Afghanistan first, okay?

So, my friend, you've decided that we need to attack Iran ... But, how do you support this choice?

In this World of incredibly difficult choices, you've zeroed in on one of the worst we could make ... To begin another "Adventure." In my tired eyes, I think we need to end what we've begun, first.

From Prez George, who left the "tough stuff" in His last year to Dick Cheney, to Prez "Brak" (anybody remember Brak? Check The Brak Show.) Obama, the gestalt mood-swing is like day & night.
Cheney's "uber-man" toughness was outdone only by his rampant "pro-corporate interests" stance. The reality index, however, was far higher than the "Beta-Male" yes-man-ism of Prez Obama. If this was only an economic choice, I would applaud his reluctance to make any "sudden moves."

The sad and ultimately shameful fact is that the lives of our best citizens are being wasted by the Presidents hesitation to do "the right thing." But, just what is "the right thing?"
The moral path was laid out by President Bush in the weeks after the Taliban crowed over their involvement with Al-Queda. "Remove & replace" was what we heard.
Sadly, this was not the reality. The devolution into the Vietnam standard "Military-Industrial" opportunity came all too soon, and was disgustingly thorough. The opportunity for all "sides" to play Politics was too attractive for Patriotism to overcome, as was raw commercial opportunism. "No-bid" contracts were not only expedient in our "fast food" society, they made great opportunities for officials to build & reward personal alliances.
So was set the sordid proof that, as with McNamera & Johnson, the "interests" of the Administration, not the interests of the People, would guide and command "Military" Policy.

And "we the People" must share the blame. In the national "head-rush" of our consumer orgy, we decided that what we'd been told were "rights & entitlements" truly were such. Our selfishness knew no bounds, as did our overweening demand for someone to "blame." We rushed headlong to try and prove to ourselves that what the Terrorists made plain was actually a strength. We gladly said, "Here, do with our Rights what you will, as long as we don't have to doubt that we're 'safe.'"

Iraq proved that America still had not learned "the Law of the Jungle:"
The Tiger who has the Biggest Teeth must use them.

Herein lies the basic fact of Nature: Do, or Die. Speak Boldly, and Use the Big Stick.

In Afghanistan, "Papa" Bush screwed the pooch. We had, and gave away with a will, a great opportunity. Papa Bush could have decided to help the Mujaheddin after their victory over the Soviets in the 80's, and we would have been Afghanistan's first true Allies, and their Mentors. But, for reasons that are long, complicated and ultimately, self-serving, he chose not to do the right thing.

The Afghani's were left with a power vacuum, and as any student of physics or Nature knows, every vacuum is sooner or later filled. The Taliban rose.
Iraq was treated in the same way, with the same concurrent results: Hundreds of billions of dollars, and many thousands, if not millions of lives were wasted. Our children may well pay for our hubris, and our childish self-indulgence.

So, for the final point: There are only 2 correct paths to take in Afghanistan.

One is to pull out, and let the chips fall. This will be ruinous, but at least we'll be out of "the Money Pit," for awhile. Iy will lead, as did the Vietnam pull out, to the same sort of action as lead to the Iranian Revolution. It will also necessitate "Fortress America," and the police state that would require.

The other is to put our full support and efforts behind what is actually best for ourselves and the Afghani People. simply put, that is to stop screwing around with maintaining a "balance of terror,' and overcome the Taliban wherever they choose to hide.
Make it clear, in no uncertain terms, that any Temple, Village or entity of any sort that harbors them will be destroyed. Make clear where a "safe haven" will be, and make it safe. This can be done, if President Obama has the cojones to stand up and be a Man.

This will require him to displease those he wishes most to serve. He will be reviled and despised by many in the World.

But, in doing this one defining act, he would become more than the wounded "child of the streets" he still obviously is, deep inside. He would become an Alpha-Male, a maker of Nations, a Man of Decision ...

A Maker of Peace.

And let those who would "Play Games" be damned.

But, will this happen? Will the second path be taken?

NO.

Why? Because, no matter how deft a Politician He is, Mr. Obama doesn't have what it takes to be a Great Leader.

He craves the approval of others. Simply, He doesn't know how to lead.

So ...

Learn to duck.

Re: the new Vietnam:
Americans should pay close attention to the path President Obama chooses in Afghanistan, since his decision will prove critical to America's national security interests, write Heritage Foundation experts Lisa Curtis and James Phillips.
"There appears to be some wishful thinking within the Obama Administration regarding the U.S's ability to negotiate a political solution with the Taliban," write Curtis and Phillips. But negotiations have yet to work with al-Qaeda and Taliban, who are now more unified than ever by their anti-Western aims. As Henry Kissinger wrote in Newsweek, "even so-called realists -- like me -- would gag at a tacit U.S. cooperation with the Taliban in the governance of Afghanistan."

RE: amnesty for illegals:
Aware that granting amnesty to lawbreakers may provoke a strong reaction, President Obama and one of the bill's key authors, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) have decided to keep it under wraps until the new year. In fact, the administration is drafting the legislation itself behind closed doors, rather than in the usual Congressional committees. That means Congressmen won't even see the "hundreds of pages of complicated legislative language" until the bill is brought to the floor.
"After witnessing the firestorm over health reform, Obama apparently has decided never to go down that 'let Congress lead' route again," explains Carafano. This means the proposal won't reflect Congressional debate -- including input from those skeptical of granting amnesty -- but instead will reflect only the President's priorities.

From the "Somebody needs a drool cup ... QUICK!" file comes the amazing assertion that proves beyond a doubt that Zbigniew Brzezinski's judgment was certainly *IRONY ALERT!* 'spot-on!' when he led the Carter Administration's response to The Iranian Hostage situation.
He begins, in this great interview from an unlikely source, The Daily Beast, with his opinion on the Administration's inept handling of the heretofore simple art of saying "SURPRISE, WE'RE SCREWING YOU! No advanced missile defense for you!" Apparently, he feels they really just need to work on their 'bedside manner':

So, in the words of the immortal Homer; "DOH!" Unfortunately, the folks he's referring to are supposed to be the professionals at this sort of thing ... perhaps it's time to go recruiting, maybe at Best Buy or Costco!
Or, just perhaps, they really meant to send the message they did, and deeply damage our East European policy, just when the Soviets are ready to flex their muscles ... why do I feel bilious, all of a sudden?

And, to paraphrase the dear, departed Billy Mays, "But, that's not ALL!" No, ol' Mr. Brys has more really great ideas. Apparently, he's still all "wee-wee'd up" at the Israelis for that silly old Liberty incident. Obviously, he hasn't heard of "forgive & forget," much less "live & let live," as long as those trying to protect themselves are Jews:

Dear Reader, I hope you'll go and take a look at the sophomoric drivel the Progressives characterize as "gravitas." I get the feeling that he was barely hiding a snigger throughout this entire interview. Sadly, I can find very little in the Administration's actions to snigger over.

So, the "Cult of Personality" finds its ultimate personal statement?

Personally, I find much about some of the various statements uttered in this video to be admirable, but the notion that it would somehow be appropriate to show this to children in school, then put them "under the gun" with curriculum requirements verges upon overt propaganda from the Administration.




Clearly, this isn't a matter of "By the People, For the People ..." government, but a case of "(Self) Important People" who feel the need to alter the thoughts & behavior of young minds, and the co-opting of those young minds by those Politicians who wish not to free them, but ultimately deprive them of first their Constitutionally guaranteed rights, then of any hope of a brighter, more abundant future.
Isn't it notable how those who consume the most most freely, and want for nothing, are the most vocal about how you should be made to "volunteer" that which you've worked hard for? And that they would pledge to make you pledge to serve those in power?

Y'know, that's REAL freedom, ain't it?

Now, what I found offensive about the video was the blatantly false utterances of the President, calling upon us:

"Let us summon a new spirit of patriotism, of responsibility where each of us resolves to pitch in and work harder and look after not only ourselves but each other."

This (on it's face) is admirable, and I question where he lives and was raised that he does not see this in action every day. I see and hear these principles each and every day, as I tend to small children, commiserate with parents and stand up for those who work hard and feel "left behind."

But, Mr. President, where is your call for each of us to be responsible to and for our own choices and actions? Where is the call for those who seek a "free lunch" to get off of their duffs and work? Where is the compassion for those who've been gainfully employed, but have been put out of jobs by a "Environmental" bureaucracy that puts the good of "special interests" above those of people who pick the fruit, and till the soil, and actually want to work?

Doesn't Mr. Obama have any compassion for the people who've spent countless days toiling in the hot sun, only to be put out of a job because bureaucrats and "Environmentalists" have decided that it serves "THEM" far more efficiently to ignore the actual reason for the death of the Delta Smelt:

Over 200 Million gallons of untreated and partially treated sewage & urban runoff per day that is poured into the Sacramento Delta each day.

Now, I'm sure that every one of the more than 40,000 farm related workers who've lost jobs in NObama County feel sorry for the President, seeing as he only had most of the month of August off to tour the country on the People's dime.
I'm sure they wept for him as they stood in line for hours in the hot sun, hoping that there would still be something left when they reached the sign-in table for food from the shrinking reserves of the food bank, and other generous charities.

It would have been nice if Mr. Obama had taken the time, or showed the compassion that even Mr. Bush had to show for New Orleans. And I can guarantee that we would have welcomed him and shown him a "good time," even at the cost of our dwindling resources.

It would be nice if Rep. Nancy Pelosi had the guts to "commandeer" military transport out to survey our situation from the air, but it turns out that she too lacks the simple compassion it would require.
Or at least it would appear so to a rank "outsider" like myself, since she has yet to allow a bill or amendment supporting the interests of NObama & surrounding counties to come up for a vote. But then, it might get in the way of attempting to get the real work of Congress ( like appropriating $200 million for new luxury Gulfstream jets to insure that "They" travel in style appropriate to their importance) to send "Emergency Aid" in a larger sum than $4 million dollars.

After all, Mr. President, we've only lost more than $160 million dollars in our county Ag economy this year. A mere pittance, I know, when compared to the $1 BILLION+ given by Wall Street Bailout recipients in bonuses to their starving executives.

But then, I'm just a bitter, angry Conservative, Mr. President. And you so compassionately wish to decide whether I can have a job, or health care ...

Pardon me if I withhold my thanks, Mr. President. (And I'll hide my hand gestures, too.)

So, when will you be visiting OUR disaster area?

Oh, that's right ... We're not your kind of Americans, and don't deserve your "looking after."

Your condescension and silence to our piteous cries has made that abundantly clear.

Battle Fatigue and " The Big Lie."

Today, I was led to gutenberg.net by the following article where I read James Murphy's introduction to his 1939 translation of Mein Kamf as well as a bit of the text. I intend to read more, but for now, I'm remembering how useful it is to me to give and receive what I can of information that powers common sense in the face of the unimaginable.

Currently, I am again facing what I have come to regard as a great test for those who wish to be a part of the common good; the struggle to absorb the worst case scenario of what's going on so as to play some part in better outcomes for all. Thanks to many others, I see myself as one of an infinite number of pieces of a glorious puzzle, each finding its own best fit. As such, I am hopeful that, more often than not, people may rise to a famous toast offered by political orators from Benjamin Franklin to Abraham Lincoln, United We Stand, Divided We Fall." According to answers.com, this phrase gained currency after John Dickinson's "Liberty Song" was published on 18 July 1768, in the Boston Gazette. The work contained the lines:

. . . Obama makes outrageous claims that his healthcare reform will reduce the deficit and rein in healthcare spending, but the CBO says just the opposite. How can the present healthcare crisis, supposedly a crisis of spending, be solved with more spending, and by an institution known for its reckless disregard for fiscal realities?

At the heart of this barrage of deception and dishonesty is an uncommon genius, innate to only the most devious sort. While Obama's opponents spend their precious time addressing each new lie, Obama will keep the focus off the end-zone, and government healthcare will sail into place. This strategy has a name; it is called "the big lie," and it depends on a fundamental truth of human nature: fatigue.

At some point, citizens grow weary of hearing that their leaders are out for their ill, that political policies are nothing more than grand deceptions. Who wants to believe their President is a serial liar that seeks to impose full Socialism on the land of the free? Some truths are too big to contemplate, an observation that would lead one of the world's most successful propagandists (*) to write:

It would never come into their [the people's] heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation.


Obama is counting on this principle. Most Americans are growing tired and are ready for some sort of compromise, but we cannot give in to this impulse. Obama will not give up and neither can we. Be encouraged. Don't lose hope. We must push forward, and keep the heat on the enemies of freedom. Americans must stay alert or the lie of all lies will consume what is left of liberty in America.

The subject of "Battle Fatigue" has been weighing on my mind lately. After a harried & hurried month plus of going from quiet personal conversation to near-riot activism against the creeping mixture of socialism & fascism being rammed down our throats by our supposed "Leaders." (sic)

For me, battle fatigue is a fact of life. I suffer from CMT, a genetic neural syndrome, which means that I have 'good days', and I have 'bad days.' Today is a good day; last Friday, when we went to Sacramento, was a bad day. I tend to get every bug that comes my way, and they hang on after everyone else is feeling better. Fatigue is a constant companion, so I tend to be more persistent than many other folks.

Unfortunately, my only gross outward evidence of suffering from CMT is a sometimes visible tremor. I don't have to wear leg braces, as many CMT sufferers do, nor use a wheelchair as some of the more severely burdened folks do, either. I consider this a blessing, though it leads to the most irritating observation/excuse ever made: "Why, you wouldn't know it to look at you!"

But I'm going on about myself, and that's not my point. My point is that if I'm getting worn out by the whirl of activism that my simple life has been bombarded by of recent weeks, I can see and feel the fatigue of those who're shoehorning such activities into an already overburdened lifestyle. I can't describe the level of pride I feel when I look around at folks who're far more active as Leaders than I'm able to personally manage or call forth. Yet, I also see the danger of letting ourselves take a "vacation" from our activism.

But, even more insidious than 'dropping out' of our new found political activism is the danger of taking ease through compromise. I've had to say "buck up, 'lil soldier" to many folks lately, folks who've allowed themselves to become resentful of the violation of their time that activism has required from them. And yes, I've done my "preacher thing" to most of them, and even pissed them off in some cases. Thankfully, they've (mostly) forgiven me my lectures.

Still, I just won't shut up. My own dear partner often gets that 'fixed & dilated' look when I practice my latest lecture on her. Many of my Tea Party contemporaries get the same look, or subtly edge away as my volume rises ... until I remind them that we can't back down.

Why? Why not back down and compromise? The "other" side will compromise, won't they?

Sure, they'll compromise. But, WHY will they compromise?

Because, as long as the "other" side compromises, THEY WIN! They're fine with getting only part of what they want, because they know that as long as they are moving forward, they're winning.

That's why, when you go to get a divorce, the lawyer will tell you this: "Divorce negotiations are a process which, when successful, will culminate in both parties being equally miserable."

And that, my friend, isn't nearly good enough for the danger that we face. The "End Game" is all that matters to Mr. Obama, His Czars, and His minions. As long as they move forward, they're winning. And every inch we give, as we've seen with the "San Joaquin River Restoration Act," is followed by ever louder calls for us to give a mile.

For a Conservative movement that seems at times to be obsessed with Pro Football, we seem to be unable to apply the lessons contained within "the Game." Politics, like Football, is a game of inches and yards.

So, what is our answer. Simple, really simple. In fact, we all know the answer:

"Just say NO."

Once again, "The Gipper", or more precisely, Mrs. Reagan brings us the answer.

Just say No.
No more compromise, no more irresponsible Government spending.
No more listening to "Czars" who have the audacity to call us racists, when they're the only ones bringing up color or ethnicity. That is, to say it simply, "If you want health care, pay for it yourself, bud."

Just say No. "No, I'm not ashamed to say NO." No, you can't sell our country to finance your power. No, I don't feel badly that Juan has to live in a country run by corrupt rich bastards, and NO, he can't come sneaking over the border to "immigrate," any more than Mexico will let me just sneak over their border to "immigrate." If I did, I can guarantee I'd be sitting in jail when they found out my status, instead of getting welfare & free health care.

Just say NO. No more encroachments on our personal freedoms. No Government bureaucrats in control of what of our personal information they're "entitled to," and who will receive what level of health care. No more Government bureaucrats telling me where I can or can't go on "Public Lands," because of a supposed "Health Hazard Emergency," when I've been going there for decades with absolutely no ill effects.

Just say NO to being "guilt-ed." No, I don't feel badly that people who want insurance have to pay ever higher insurance bills, when they elect Politicians who make regulations designed to favor Trial Lawyers and State-centric insurance policies. Ask pretty much any insurance professional, and they can tell you THE problem is Government.

Just say NO to LIES. Say No to the lie of people being "turned away" from health care. It just isn't true.


Just say NO. Say NO to morally bankrupt elitists who publish their true beliefs, then proclaim publicly to have changed their beliefs, then go out and make speeches that are describable only as pandering to their "select" constituency. (Hint: Look for Van Jones speeches.)



Just say NO. Say no to "Environmentalists" who try to make you feel guilty that you're not "Saving the Planet!" Be aware, these persons, without exception, are not interested in doing ANYTHING that restricts THEIR freedoms or "Lifestyles." They are interested only in keeping others under THEIR control, and making others pay attention (and THEIR BILLS) to THEM as much as they are able to legislate or regulate.

Just say NO to being guilty for what you've earned. Just say NO to mealy-mouthed, hypocritical Politicians, the type who say "I KNOW what my 'constituents' say, but I'll vote as I WANT!"

Just say NO. Just say NO to Politicians who insist that Government not only makes the "Rules" for Business, they get to VIOLATE those self-same "Rules" in operating the Government.

And, most importantly, "Just say NO" to Politicians (like Al Gore) who tell you that you have to accept and embrace a life of deprivation to "Save the Planet," while they (The "Nomenklatura" in Soviet parlance) fly around the World accepting the butt-kissing adulation of their "Equals."

Be like Ghandi, my chelas. Be like Martin, my Brothers. Sit down or stand, scream or be quietly resolute, but do this one thing:

Just say NO. NO MORE.

Considering this is from an admitted Progressive, I was surprised at the comprehensive and (seemingly) honest appraisal of Co-ops vs. Public Single Payer. But upon further reading and reflection, my surprise faded. I've become used to Progressive Politicians who try to hide their actual motives and eventual outcomes at all costs. After all, if we really knew what they were trying to do to us, we'd never go back to sleep and give them their way, would we?

'Obama Politics for Idiots': explaining it for those who desperately want to believe in Him.

So, you have that friend who, despite the creeping uneasiness that they keep feeling over TARP, Cap n' Turd, GM (The Saga continues!), ... well, EVERYTHING that the Obama Administration & Democrat controlled Congress have rammed through & past us like you-know-what through a goose ... That friend who still wants to believe that Mr. Obama is a great guy, and a 'Great Savior'?

And now that friend comes to you, and asks "WHY? Why so much, so fast? Why are they calling Grannies and Veterans 'Radical?' Why pay for Union Thugs to scream epithets and call names?
Why do they seem to believe in 'Good' Free Speech & 'Bad' Free Speech? Why a White House snitch address? Why Nationalize Health Care?"

"Why is it 'ok' for Nancy Pilosi to lie? Why is it forgotten that the President said things about 'single payer' Gov't run Health Care in the campaign, and now maintains he never said them? Why does he keep sending out his 'advisers' to float trial balloons, then shooting them down?"

Well, dear friends, here's your answer: Tell them the Truth.

Tell them that Mr. Obama is a "clean, smart, articulate young man" who has a lovely (though baldly scheming) young wife, and 2 lovely young girls.

Tell them that, if you'd spent your life being teased, ridiculed and put down due to the decisions of your parents, you'd be obsessed with power, wealth and celebrity, and willing to manipulate a system that seems to have been designed to be manipulated by such a man as you, a man willing to abandon his pastor of 20 years and say that he never heard the sermons that he quoted in his 2 autobiographical books, his self proclaimed 'life story.'

A man who was "ready to take power and rule!" A man who was willing to accept the assistance of a (now imprisoned) "developer" whom he had helped get Gov't contracts, and who helped him right back when he needed a "deal" to move into a posh neighborhood.

A man who is unwilling to do what his predecessors have all done: To lay themselves open to scrutiny, reveal service and educational records, birth records, medical records, ANY records at all.

A man who'd run for state office and play machine politics to 'disqualify' opponents on 'erroneous' charges. A man who would do the same to run unopposed for a Senate seat, then ignores a publicly made statement that he should not to run for President.

And most importantly, let your friend know that the reason he changes his 'mind' so often is that he's even more hyper-aware of his 'legacy' than Bill & Hillary ever were.

That he's a control freak who feels that he shouldn't have to fulfill statements made in public if it doesn't suit his needs of the moment, or his need to control you.

Let your friend know what a true friend would do when questioned about your association with them ... then remind them of Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers and all of the other 'friends' that Mr. Obama has "barely known."

And ask them "would I lie to you?"

And make that answer "No."
